The Miyawaki model was used to plant around 5 lakh Saplings Planted in the degraded forest area that is more than 200 acres. In the Miyawaki method, 2-4 plants are planted per square meter. The model used in Miyawaki forest was successful as it made the forest self-sustaining. The forest also grows in 2-3 years. Planting many trees helped bring the temperature down in the concrete islands. Also, it helps in reducing noise pollution and attracts more birds and sects.

The pandemic has made people realize the value of nature and the environment. So, it is important to safeguard the forest to save the environment, said TRS MP Santosh Kumar.

Before the Saplings Planted drive, Santosh Kumar appealed to everyone to bring success from this event. He said the survival of humans is dependent on Mother Nature. Immense damage has been caused to Mother Nature by corona that made us realize the importance of conserving resources. He asked everyone to take part in the Green India Challenge by joining hands together in planting the saplings. He also asked people to nominate three other people further. Green India Challenge was initiated four years ago to improve the green cover.
