India last competed in a Test match in Dominica in 2011. India was still reveling in the joy of winning the ODI World Championship shortly after the IPL had ended. MS Dhoni was the captain at the time, and two players who are still on the team are, albeit in different capacities. On July 12, the first test will start.
For Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid, who were teammates with each other during the 2011 Test, it is a Dominica reunion. Naturally, circumstances have changed. While Kohli was a relative unknown in the Test arena in 2011, Dravid was nearing the end of his playing career.
Kohli and Dravid shared a picture on Twitter with the caption, “The only two people who attended the last Test we played at Dominica in 2011,” to capture a sweet moment from their reunion. We never anticipated that the path would bring us back here in a variety of roles. I’m quite thankful. 2011 Test results were drawn. On the fifth day, India was given a target of 180 to win in 32 overs, and they reached 94/3.
In West Indies, India has won the last four Test series. Two of them were brought in by Kohli as captain. In reality, India has only triumphed in five Test matches in the West Indies, and four of those victories were between 2006 and it goes to 2019.
India will next play a T20I series in Ireland after which they will play all of their games in Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup. The World Cup is then ready to begin. India’s opening match is on October 8 against Australia. In exactly one week, the eagerly awaited matchup with Pakistan will take place.
