India has been setting many historic moments. Continuing this, India has again taken a historic step for the development of its states. The first passenger train reached Manipur, making it available on India’s railway map.
N Biren Singh, Chief Minister of Manipur said that it is a historic moment and the Manipur’s people are grateful to the PM of India for this historic step.
For a trial run, the Rajdhani Express (a passenger train) travelled from Silchar station of Assam to Manipur‘s Vaingaichunpao station. This put Manipur state on Indian’s map of railways.
According to the report, the officials were present on the train while the trial runs. The train travelled for 11 km, covering the distance between two northeast railway stations. When the train stopped at Jiribam railway station in Manipur, the representatives were welcomed by the local citizens. After that, along with the national anthem, the national flag was hoisted.

The Railway senior PRO Nripen Bhattacharya, North East Frontier (NF), Abdul Hakim CDO of Silchar and others were present along with the officials of Indian Railways.
While talking to the press, Nripen said that this train service has been started from Silchar railway station to the Vaingaichunpao railway station. And, the train with the passenger will start soon from Vaingaichunpao railway station to Silchar railway station.
Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh, took Twitter to state the moment as historic. In his post, he said that a successful trial run has been done of a passenger train that travelled from Silchar station to Vaingaichunpao station of Tamenglong. He further added that Manipur’s people are grateful to the PM of India.
It is a major step for the development of north India. It will help northern stated to connect easily with the other states.
Moreover, the railway line for the railway station of Vaingaichunpao to Imphal is also being constructed. After the construction of this railway line will be over, it will increase the connectivity of Manipur and Assam. Also, it will be the longest railway tunnel near Imphal.
