NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray were scheduled to join Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra when it reached Maharashtra. But Pawar is admitted to the hospital. Uddhav’s doctors also did not allow him. Pawar was replaced by his daughter, NCP MP Supriya Sule, who joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra yesterday. On Friday, Uddhav Thackeray’s son, Shiv Sena MLA Aditya Thackeray, will join the Yatra.
DMK chief MK Stalin handed over the national flag to Rahul when he started the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Tamil Nadu’s Kanyakumari two months ago. The journey across South India is now entering West India. After the DMK, the NCP, Shiv Sena joining the Bharat Jodo Yatra has tried to convey the message of an anti-Congress leadership alliance. When Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut was arrested by the ED, none of the top Congress leaders stood by him as forcefully.
On Wednesday, a special court in Mumbai granted bail to Raut, saying the ED had abused its powers in arresting him. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge yesterday said, “Raut’s bail order has exposed the BJP government’s politics of revenge. The BJP is using every opportunity to target opposition party leaders.” Rahul Gandhi himself commented on this issue from the public meeting, “No one is afraid of ED-CD. Understand it, Bhai sab.”
Comment from Supriya
Similarly, Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule targeted the Modi government yesterday. According to him, NCP has always stood by the opposition to save the constitution. Political opponents are needed in the country for the sake of the constitution. In the afternoon, at Nanded, Supriya was joined by Maharashtra NCP state president Jayant Patil, party leader Jitendra Awhad and Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rahul.
On Pawar’s inability to attend, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said, “He is hospitalized. Rahul Gandhi himself spoke to him on phone. I have also spoken. Doctors have advised him to rest for three to four weeks. So, Pawar cannot join the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Aditya Thackeray will join tomorrow.” Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Maharashtra last Monday via Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. The journey will cover 382 kilometers over 15 days through five districts of Maharashtra. Then Madhya Pradesh, i.e., a completely Hindi circle will enter Rahul’s Padayatra.
Amitabh’s meeting at the G-20 conference
At the end of the G-20 summit in Bali, Indonesia will symbolically hand over the presidency of the organization to India on November 16. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to Bali on the 14th to attend the two-day conference. In the turbulent international situation, the leaders of twenty countries of the world will try to find a way in the meeting. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Collective Healing, Getting Stronger After Healing.’
The world has endured a storm of epidemics for the past two years. The international distribution system has been shaken; the economy has suffered. Fuel prices are going to skyrocket. It’s been 8 months since the Russia-Ukraine war shows no signs of ending, and the food crisis is growing exponentially.
