However, he has been able to improve with each event. His last Olympics was in Tokyo, where he managed 68.55. Until now, his best has been 73.29 meters.

With this gold, India’s tally at the Paralympics has attained 15 in total. It includes 3 gold, 5 silver, and seven bronze.

He has always been one of the best javelin throwers for India. Apart from the Olympics, he has also won gold at the World Para Athletics Championship in 23 and 24. In addition, he has also managed to be the world record holder in the Javelin category.

Apart from medals, he is the third Paralympic athlete from the country to win two golds in an event. Apart from him and Avani, Devendra Jhajharia is another former player to achieve this feat.

In addition, he has also set a target of 75 meters in the javelin event. However, he is yet to cross that mark.

In a recent interaction, he has also revealed that he is suffering from an injury. As a result, he has severe pain, and he is competing in the events with the help of painkillers.

In total, India has won 15 medals at the event. It is more than their entire tally of medals in the Olympics between 88 and 2016.

If we talk about the events then, India got gold by Nitesh Kumar. In terms of silver, Thulasimathi Murugesan, Yogesh Kathuniya, and Suhas Yathiraj were successful in getting each.

Finally, bronze was won by two pairs. Namely, Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar in mixed compound archery, along with Manisha Ramadass and Nithya Sre Sivan in badminton.

After their stellar performances, we all can expect that we will end with a tonne of medals at the Paralympics.

If we go by the schedule, then there are, in total, 11 days for the event. So, we will have to wait another six days for the final medal tally. For the 6th day, India has some contenders for winning the gold. The chances will be in shooting, athletics, and archery. Also, the onus will be on Avani Lekhara, who will be fighting in the 50-meter pistol category.
