Popular OTT Shows Renewed By Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video is going all out with renewal of famous OTT shows. New shows like Shahid Kapoor’s Farzi, Kay Kay Menon’s Bambai Meri Jaan, Naga Chaitanya’s Dhootha, Sonakshi Sinha’s Dahaad, Pankaj Tripathi’s Gulkanda Tales, Aishwarya Rajesh’s Suzhal, Jisshu Sengupta’s PI Meena, Vivek Oberoi’s Indian Police Force and many others are also going to be a treat for the subscribers.

The OTT platform is set to renew the runaway hits including The Family Man, Paatal Lok, Mirzapur, Made in Heaven, Four More Shots Please, Breathe:Into The Shadows and Panchayat in the coming time. The announcement was made during the streamer’s Prime Video Presents India event on Thursday in Mumbai.

Amazon Prime is set to rule over the other streaming platforms with a mix of returning and brand new shows in the future. Along with all these, numerous movies are also going to stream on the platform including Yudhra, Fukrey 3, Jee Le Zaraa, Phone Boot, Ram Setu, Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan and others after their theatrical releases.

Amazon Prime rolled out an ambitious road map of 5 years and disclosed a 40-strong new title slate, new seasons to be streamed, new films(both collaborations and originals) over the upcoming 2 years. This was announced in a star studded event hosted by Sumukhi Suresh, Abhishek Bachchan and Karan Johar. Amazon Prime has recently launched Prime Video Store to attract its viewers. It is Prime’s TVOD(Transactional Video On Demand) movie rental service in India, available to both non members and Prime members. Customers will be enabled to get early rental access to the latest international movies and Indian films by this additional service.

The official Instagram account of Prime Video was seen to post the posters of the upcoming seasons of the old shows. Web series Four More Shots Please is going to be back with its fourth season. The series, directed by Joyeeta Patpatia revolves around four modern women played by the actresses Kirti Kulhari, Bani J, Sayani Gupta and Maanvi Gagroo and delves deep into their lives to showcase what really makes them tick through their friendship. Lisa Ray and Prateik Babbar will also return this season and Jim Sarbh will be a big new entry who is likely to play the trainer of Bank’s character.

Breathe is also a favourite among people consisting of a tale of twists and mind games. It is directed by Mayank Sharma and is under the banner of Abundantia Entertainment. The key cast includes Amit Sadh, Abhishek Bachchan, Nithya Menen and others. There will also be a third season of the Mirzapur series under Excel Media and Entertainment and viewers are already hyped up about this Gurmmet Singh and Anand Iyer film. The lead cast has trendsetters like Pankaj Tripathi, Rasika Fugal, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma and other great actors and actresses.

Another popular series, Made in Heaven is also set for its second season after a long wait. Created by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar, the show will see the return of the entire lead cast. These include Arjun Mathur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Kalki Koechlin, Shashank Arora, Jim Sarbh and Shivangi Rastogi. The first season premiered in 2019 and garnered great acclaim. It follows two best friends who are wedding planners in an almost anthology-like show about various couples, their relationships and weddings.
