Naga Chaitanya Doesn’t Regret Working In Laal Singh Chaddha

Laal Sigh Chaddha is an Indian adaption of Forrest Gump by Tom Hanks. Naga Chaitanya was selected to play the role of Benjamin Buford Blue also known as Bubba. It was Chaitanya’s Bollywood debut film.

He is currently promoting his upcoming movie Custody. It is a Tamil-Telugu film. During this promotion period, he stated why he selected to work in the movie. He also stated that even though the movie didn’t do well in the cinema, he was happy and fortunate for the opportunity.

The film didn’t meet the expected result and faced a loss. The budget for the movie was Rs. 200 crore. However, during the screening period of the movie Laal Singh Chaddha, it was able to make Rs. 55 crores. It was pretty much a disaster.

The actor stated that he connected to the script on a personal level when he heard it. He also added that the main reason for him to select to work for this movie was an opportunity to work with Amir Khan. He said that he wanted to learn from Amir Khan by traveling and acting with him. The project provided him the opportunity to work with Amir for 5 -6 months.

Chaitanya views this opportunity as a future investment and a great learning experience. He said that he felt the honesty in the way Amir works. He followed Amir throughout the filming and learned a lot. He feels like he has evolved as a person and as an actor through this experience.

He thinks that it is unfortunate that the movie didn’t perform well in the theatre. However, he doesn’t regret working on the film and he soaked what he could learn from senior actors and grew his skills as an actor.
