KGF Chapter 2 has been in the theatres and multiplexes for more than twelve days now and the global box office collection of it has been up and gone above rupees 900 crore! The Yash-starrer movie is the sixth Indian film to cross this milestone.
It looks like the movie is in no hurry to slow down at all! The movie from Kannada passed another milestone two days ago as it became a major piece to gross over 900 crore globally. The Prasanth Neel-directed film earned more than 23 crore which made its total worldwide collection over 907 crore rupees, according to trade sources. Recent analysis by experts suggests that the movie’s likely to cross the 1000-crore rupees mark within this weekend surpassing the collection of movies like Secret Superstar and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Manobala Vijayabalan, a film trade analyst, posted on Twitter yesterday evening the global gross of KGF: Chapter 2. Following this, he continued with a day-to-day breakdown of the earnings of the movie. Another impressive thing is that the movie’s collection dwarfed the recently released Jersey’s collection in the Box Office. Monday was the fourth day of the release of Jersey and it could only collect a little over 1.5 crore rupees on that day. On contrary KGF 2’s 12th day on Monday earned 23 crore rupees!
• Hindi version:
On Monday, the Hindi version of KGF alone earned over 8 crore rupees which took its total collection to almost 330 crore rupees. It has also continued to soar alongside the original version. As per Taran Adarsh, the movie is set to reach Hindi-version India earnings of Dangal which is the second-highest grossing Hindi film ever.
The movie, as the name suggests, is a sequel to its major first part and marks the return of the popular actor named Yash as the character of Rocky. In overseas too, the movie has recorded stellar business. The movie also stars two other famous Bollywood artists like Raveena Tandon as the Prime Minister and Sanjay Dutt as the character of the antagonist named Adheera.
KGF 2 has ended up surpassing big names like Tanhaji, Tiger Zinda Hai, PK, RRR to achieve the tremendous feat. With the entry of the Hindi version in the 300-crore club, the lead actor, Yash is set to gallop past new boundaries as all eyes are on the huge collections of lifetime that the movie is to garner. Meanwhile, the actor from RRR movie, Ram Charan wished Yash, the superstar for the success of the movie on his social media handle. His post read to congratulate the entire cast and crew for the big achievement.The film has received unanimous praise in numerous languages as it surpassed another two South Indian biggies like Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise and Beast of Thalapathy Vijay. It is surely a dream run from its release date of 14th April. Produced under the banner of Hombale Films, the movie was released in five different languages after getting postponed earlier for multiple times during the pandemic of Covid-19. Tracing the rise and consecutive fall of the character of Rocky, the post-credits scene of the movie hinted at another sequel to it. The movie also starred Srinidhi Shetty, Malavika Avinash, Eswari Rao, Prakash Raj and Saran in supporting roles.
