India Looking To Seal The Series In The Second ODI Against New Zealand

According to a report published today in The Times Of India, a request from a person from the media to say Jai Johar to  Mitchell Santer has left this left-arm spinner of New Zealand puzzled for an answer. The capital city of Chhattisgarh, Raipur is all set to host the send ODI game in the three-match series between India and New Zealand.   This is the first time in the history of Raipur that it shall host a cricket match. In addition to that this stadium of Raipur is also about to become the fifth stadium of India. According to the expectations, the ticket is a sellout. It is being said that around fifty thousand spectators shall be present as India takes on New Zealand in the second ODI, today.

Currently, India has this white ball series to win before going on to play four test matches of the Border-Gavaskar trophy against Australia. Later this year too India shall be playing in the ODI World Cup tournament and so each game that India plays no is important for them. This will bring them clarity on how much they are prepared for the upcoming World Cup tournament.

It is being said that this debut pitch of Raipur is a favorable batting pitch. Any tea, that bats first shall get an advantage. This ground too expects to see a high-scoring game. Furthermore, the ground shall also support the spinners during the second innings.

Currently, team India is charged very high in spirits with the massive double ton from Gill in the previous game. Before this game, India is looking for rectifying a few flaws that might hinder them from winning the second ODI. It has been seen that the bowlers have been a little expensive for India, especially during the second innings. Even though in Hyderabad India ended up winning the game but the bowlers were thrashed by Michael Bracewell.  The management of the Indian team is currently worried about India not dominating in this series but somehow stealing a win.

In Hyderabad after putting up a huge total of three hundred and forty-nine on board by India, the team had thought that they would win by a huge margin. In fact, till the twenty-ninth over, they were able to restrict the New Zealanders within a hundred and thirty-one for the loss of six wickets. But Bracewell proved to be more dominant against India scoring a hundred and forty runs in just seventy-eight balls. He has exposed the shaky bowling unit of India and marked that the Indian team struggles to defend the score on a batting pitch.

But the bowling coach of India Paras Mhambrey has said that during an international game, every team performs and tests the other. He does not believe that India struggled to defend its total as they have defended their scores in the previous matches too. Even though India had scored big runs on the board but he also knew that the Kiwis shall fight back too. But eventually, India won, and the team I looking to rectify certain areas before they play the second ODI which they want to make the decider match of the series by winning it.
