India-China Army Clash In Tawang

Indian and Chinese troops clashed at Tawang in Arunachal. The Indian Army intercepted the Chinese Army on December 9 in the Yangtze region of the Tawang sector when the Chinese Army soldiers crossed the disputed territory and crossed into India. Several jawans were injured on both sides in the clashes between the two sides. According to the four cores of the army, after the incident, both sides have withdrawn the army from the area. Later the commanders of the Indian and Chinese forces met in a flag meeting. Both sides agreed to maintain peace and the status quo. Army sources claim that this is the first clash with the Chinese army after the Galwan clash in Ladakh.

However, there have been sporadic encounters between the two armies in Tawang and other sectors in Arunachal. The villagers of Arunachal have been detained several times by the Chinese army. But this time the incident has reached a conflict. According to military sources, more than 300 troops crossed the Yangtze River from the Thang La camp towards China and crossed the Line of Actual Control. When the Indian forces tried to stop them, the Chinese started beating the Indian soldiers.

Statement from an Army officer

An army officer in Tawang said that Chinese patrol forces entering India is not a new thing as there is usually no definite borderline. Because both sides claim several areas as their own. But in this incident, the way 300 soldiers of the Chinese PLA force crossed the river and tried to enter India and occupy the area –does not usually happen. The Chinese army may not have thought that there are enough troops deployed on India’s side as well.

The Congress has said that they will move the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on the issue of Tawang on Tuesday. Jairam Ramesh, a congress leader said that they are very proud of the Indian Army’s bravery. China’s activities on the border are unacceptable. We have been trying to warn the government about China for two years. But the Narendra Modi government is trying to suppress the issue to save its image. Hence the courage of China is growing.”

He claimed, “China has made two-hundred shelters that are permanent in Depsang for giving a permanent face for the Ladakh occupation. But the BJP government is silent.” Mallikarjun Kharge, a congress leader said that the matter should be discussed by the government in Parliament.
