Gehlot Approached Sonia in Delhi with Various Political Questions

Will he lament after meeting Sonia Gandhi? Will he agree to leave the seat of the Chief Minister of Rajasthan? Has he dropped out of the race for Congress president, or can he make a comeback?

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot arrived in Delhi on Wednesday night with so many question marks. Madhya Pradesh’s old leader Digvijaya Singh said he may contest the presidential election. Digvijaya said that the Gandhi family has not yet spoken to him. He has ventured in his way.

Doubts about the candidate

Friday means today is the last day to submit nominations for the Congress president election. No one in the Congress knew until 48 hours before, who would be the Gandhi family’s chosen candidate for the party’s presidential election. According to Congress sources, Gehlot may meet Sonia Gandhi on Thursday morning. It will be clear after that meeting, Gehlot will enter the election. If he does not come down, the question has arisen whether Digvijaya Singh will contest the elections as a candidate of the Gandhi family.

Digvijaya arrived in Delhi from the ‘Bharat Jodo’ trip to Kerala on Wednesday night. Congress leaders feel that Digvijaya’s controversial comments in the past on police operations after the Batla House police encounter in Delhi or the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai will go against him. Therefore, most leaders think that Mukul Wasnik will enter the presidential election at the behest of the Gandhi family.

Meeting by Sonia Gandhi

Sonia held a meeting with senior Congress leader A. K. Antony on Wednesday before taking a final decision on Gehlot. And Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met with Sachin Pilot who came to Delhi earlier. Congress sources claim that the meeting was held secretly at Rajiv Shukla’s house. Priyanka wants Gehlot to be removed and Pilot to be made Chief Minister.

A. K. Antony is the chairman of the Congress Disciplinary Committee. He was summoned from Kerala. Sonia is very angry that the MLAs following Ashok Gehlot held a separate meeting without attending the meeting of the Congress party in Jaipur last Sunday. It is seen as a breach of discipline. Three leaders have already been mourned. No action was taken against Ashok Gehlot. It is in this context that Antony’s opinion may become important.

Congress leaders feel that Gehlot has always been a follower of the Gandhi family. There is no flaw in his credibility. After the meeting with Sonia, he may return to the race for the post of president. Haryana Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda spoke to Gehlot on the 28th. Senior leaders feel that Gehlot’s misunderstanding with Sonia should be sorted out even if he is not the president. It’s good for the team. There were speculations that Gehlot may resign from the post of Chief Minister of Rajasthan after talking to Sonia Gandhi.

Because he spoke to the governor on the phone on Wednesday morning. However, Gehlot’s office has informed that Gehlot is not resigning from the post of Chief Minister.
