The Gomti river project was being carried out by the previous party, led by Akhilesh Yadav (Samajwadi Party), which was governing the state of UP at that time.
CBI has filed a fresh case in the Akhilesh-led Gomti river project. Since then 40 places have been raided in this case. However, the CBI has filed the case a second time in the development project Gomti riverfront.
The project was taking place in the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. After the irregularities, the CBI decided to file a fresh case in the 1500 Cr development project of the Gomti riverfront. The case is filled in New Delhi.
The previous Samajwadi Party, led by Akhilesh Yadav carries out the Gomti river project, however; the Chief Minister of that time, Akhilesh Yadav is not held accused in the FIR.
There has been searching going on related to this case. A total of 42 searches is taking place currently, among which 40 locations are in UP and 1-1 in Rajasthan and Kolkata.
The strikes, which started promptly toward the beginning of the day, are additionally in progress on the locations of three boss designers and six administrator architects of the undertaking.
River Project
Aquatique Show, the French company, is among the alleged entities according to the FIR.
CBI, the investigating agency, said that the accused government officials signed an agreement with the accused French company without obtaining the government’s permission. The agreement was signed with the accused French company for 55.9 lakh Euros to supply the design for the Gomti River’s water show.
CBI said that the Gomti River project was handed to the French company without going through the proper process of tender (on a quotation basis).
In its first FIR, from 673, 12 works were investigated. In the second FIR, the rest of the 661 works amounting to Rs. 407 Cr will be investigated.
This investigation has been started by the CBI after the current UP government ordered the inquiry related to the Gomti River project. The government asked to investigate the irregularities related to the project.
